A recording of Robert's organ arrangement of the Imperial March (Darth Vader Theme) from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW4XS449EYU.
The arrangement was written for the Organ Scholars' Recital in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Somerville's chapel organ. The recording was produced and directed by Stefan Schwarz, who also played the percussion part.
Having played at last year’s Accession Day Service as part of the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee, Robert will be returning to St. Paul’s to accompany the Choir of Somerville College for a service of Choral Evensong at 5pm on Monday 18th February 2013.
The programme will include T. Tertius Noble’s Evening Service in B minor and Henry Balfour-Gardiner’s Evening Hymn. The organ voluntary will be Master Tallis's Testament by Herbert Howells.
Somerville College is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its recently restored Harrison organ in a special concert that will bring together two generations of organ scholars: Somerville's first organ scholar and college organist Sam Bayliss (2001-2005) joins current organ scholars Douglas Knight and Robert Pecksmith for an exciting programme that will explore the full range of the instrument.
Robert will be playing works by Mendelssohn, Howells and Elgar as well as a surprise item. Rumour has it Darth Vader will be making a guest appearance...
